X-ray Diffraction Analysis of Rock, Soil, and Crystalline Solid Samples

Bulk and Detailed Clay (<4 micron) XRD Analysis - $275.00 per sample
Quantitative determination of all rock-forming and clay/phyllosilicate minerals; calculation of weight percent, volume percent, and grain density; determination of mixed-layer clay types, ordering, and percent expandable interlayers.

Bulk (Whole-rock) Only XRD Analysis - $150.00 per sample
Quantitative determination of rock-forming minerals and total clay/phyllosilicate minerals; calculation of weight percent mineralogy.

Clay-size (<4 micron) Only XRD Analysis - $150.00 per sample
Quantitative determination of clays and other minerals in the <4 micron fraction; calculation of weight percent mineralogy, weight percent <4 micron material, and determination of mixed-layer clay types, ordering, and percent expandable interlayers.

Multiple Size Fraction XRD Analysis - $150.00 per size fraction
Quantitative determination of weight percent of specified size fractions from combined sieving and cetrifugation techniques. Quantitative determination of all rock-forming and clay/phyllosilicate minerals in each fraction; calculation of whole-rock weight percent &mp;mp;mp; volume percent mineralogy and grain density; determination of mixed-layer clay types, ordering, and percent expandable interlayers.

Scale/Corrosion Products, Mineral Separates, and Other Solids - $150.00 per sample
Qualitative analysis, samples prepared in deionized water or isopropyl alcohol, computer- assisted search/match using CD-ROM JCPDS database for minerals and inorganic compounds.

Scanning Electron Microscopy / Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy - $250.00 per sample
Evaluation of porosity and pore connectivity; pore throat size, shape, and roughness. Distribution and morphology of clays and cements. Analysis includes sample preparation, 3 high-quality black and white photomicrographs at various magnifications and photomicrograph descriptions.

Rush Surcharge
Standard turnaround is 2 to 4 weeks depending on the workload and the number of samples submitted. Turnaround time can be decreased for an additional charge.

3 days or less - 100% upcharge
4 to 7 days - 50% upcharge

Volume Discounts
Do you have a large number of samples?  I offer discounts as follows:

11 to 25 samples - 10% discount
26 or more samples - 20% discount
