Semi-quantitative determination of weight percentages of all rock-forming and clay/phyllosilicate minerals Determination of mixed-layer clay types, ordering, and percent expandable interlayers.
Bulk (Whole-rock) Only XRD Analysis - $150.00 per sample.
Semi-quantitative determination of weight percentages of rock-forming minerals and estimate of total clay/phyllosilicate minerals.
Clay-size (<4 micron) Only XRD Analysis - $150.00 per sample.
Semi-quantitative determination of clays and other minerals in the <4 micron fraction; calculation of weight percent mineralogy, weight percent <4 micron material, and determination of mixed-layer clay types, ordering, and percent expandable interlayers.
Scale/Corrosion Products, Mineral Separates, and Other Solids - $150.00 per sample.
Qualitative analysis, samples prepared in deionized water or isopropyl alcohol, computer- assisted search/match using CD-ROM JCPDS database for minerals and inorganic compounds.
Scanning Electron Microscopy - $300.00 per sample.
Analysis includes sample preparation, 3 high-quality black and white photomicrographs at various magnifications and photomicrograph descriptions.
Note: All of the above prices include standard sample preparation. Prices do not include removal of hydrocarbons.
Rush Surcharge
Standard turnaround is 3 to 4 weeks depending on the workload at the time and the number of samples submitted. Turnaround time can be decreased for an additional charge. (Volume discounts do not apply.)
1 day - 200% upcharge;
3 days - 100% upcharge;
7 days- 50% upcharge;
3 weeks - Standard (no upcharge)

11 to 25 samples - 10% discount;
26 or more samples - 20% discount
